HOW TO TELL YOUR STORY

Effective communication is one of life’s key skills, but even more so in business.

In this session:

  • What makes a good story?

  • How to produce effective films of a high standard on a mobile device?

  • What factors lead to a successful social media presence?

 

This workshop will be delivered by former BBC reporter, Sara Gibson from Aberystwyth.

WORKSHOP 2 – WHAT MAKES A GOOD BUSINESS IDEA?

Date: Thursday Night 16th September 2021

WORKSHOP 3 – TURNING AN IDEA INTO A BUSINESS

WORKSHOP 4 – INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF SUCCEEDING IN BUSINESS

Date: Thursday 14th October 2021

Location: Dyfi Distillery, Corris Craft Centre, Corris, Machynlleth, SY20 9RF

 

In this session:

  • What are the characteristics of failing businesses and successful businesses?

  • What defines success in an area like the Dyfi Biosphere?

  • What can you do to increase your chances of succeeding in business?

Workshop will include a talk from Danny Cameron, Dyfi Gin and a tour of the distillery.

Facilitators

Workshops 2, 3 and 4 will be delivered by Geraint Hughes on behalf of the Ti Bia’r Biosffer project.

Geraint Hughes has 15 years experience of working with rural businesses, particularly agri-food enterprises. He enjoys working with people to develop and turn their ideas into reality using his creativity to tackle and solve challenges. He is a qualified facilitator who is dedicated to encouraging people to think and come up with their own solutions. His business experience in the agri-food industry enables him to understand current market demands and understand the real challenges facing rural businesses. Geraint has specific experience and expertise on –

  • Producing local food, developing supply chains, community development and support, tourism and sustainable development

  • The benefits of current digital technology for business use, particularly in environmental and agricultural sectors

  • Incorporating the Welsh language into business plans and marketing strategies for day to day communication

  • Sustainable alternative production systems for livestock and crops in Wales

  • Niche livestock, berries, mushrooms, vegetables, grain and oil crops
