Developing and mentoring new horticultural food producers

Pathways to Farming is working towards creating stronger local food economies in the Dyfi Biosphere through training and mentoring new horticultural food producers and creating new markets for locally grown food.

We offer a programme of agro-ecological mentorship and training in food production including;

  • Classroom sessions (online/in person) - During this time you will gain the background knowledge to develop your business idea and business plan.

  • Practical group sessions at the field. Supported by our tutor, working at our practical grow site, tuition and guidance on practical growing.

  • Study visits to farms and market gardens. These are fantastic opportunities to learn and gain ideas from other experienced growers.

  • A microfarm plot at our training field in Pantperthog (or use your own land) to put your crop plans into action.

  • Mentoring to help develop your plans and find markets to sell into
