Members of staff

James Cass
Coordinator (jobshare)

James is a geographer who has worked for environmental, social justice and international development NGOs alongside arts organisations and renewable energy companies. He has experience of fundraising, project management and business administration via projects such as the Tyfu Dyfi Project at Dyfi Biosphere, The WISE Project at the Centre for Alternative Technology and Framing projects at PIRC. In his spare time, he is a keen cyclist.

Jane Powell
Coordinator (jobshare)

Jane has a background in education, agriculture and community development. She has been a member of the Biosphere Education Group since 2010 and was chair of the Partnership from 2022 before joining the staff in 2024. She previously worked for Organic Centre Wales at Aberystwyth University and LEAF Education, and is a co-founder of the Wales Real Food and Farming Conference. She lives near Aberystwyth and is bilingual.

Bryn Hall
Project Officer, Screams and Streams

Bryn is an BSc (Hons) Environmental Science student from Ceredigion with a close interest in Wales’ wildlife and landscapes. He is working with Biosffer Dyfi on a four-month project to engage local communities in the Screams and Streams project and promote further research. Having gained project and collaborative experience working in marketing, hospitality and photography he hopes to encourage people from all backgrounds to get involved with local nature-based projects. A Welsh learner, he spends much of his free time surrounded by nature in the mountains and woodlands of Wales.
