The Dyfi Biosphere is making a plan for the next five years. We want to show how our communities are working together for a better future, and we want everyone to be involved.
The Plan will say what the Biosphere and its partners hope to contribute to the area, building on our past achievements: building partnerships, incubating projects, convening meetings, and bringing people together in a spirit of collaboration. Here are some of the areas of work it could cover.
Protecting and connecting with nature

Citizen science and guardianship (e.g. Screams and Streams, the Swifts Project)

Outdoor health and the Awyr Iach project

Working with farmers on nature restoration

Supporting the government’s 30 x 30 framework: 30% of land to be managed for nature by 2030

Coastal and marine work, through Penllyn a’r Sarnau SAC

Discussions about the rights of nature and stewardship
Economy

Bringing the Well-being Economy to the Biosphere, working with Well-being Economy Wales and others

Education and research

Developing new schools projects, especially on biodiversity and careers, with the education group

Links with Aberystwyth University and Centre for Alternative Technology

Links with UNESCO sites in Wales, the UK and internationally through UK National Commission for UNESCO
Language and culture

Bilingual meetings, publications and engagement

Develop a Biosphere Ambassadors scheme as part of Wales Ambassadors
